I was born and raised in Southern New Mexico . I learned to sew at the age of 5 from my great grandmother.  She taught me to make clothes for the little Dolls of America that we collected by purchasing a certain number of ice cream cones at the local Tastee Freeze. After that, I sewed on my mothers’ featherweight Singer machine. From there it has all been history!  In school, I studied 6 years of sewing clothing and 3 years of tailoring.  I have utilized my sewing talents in many areas, from upholstery and draperies to costuming.

After school, I started a career in the IT arena that lasted for 30 years. I have a diversified background in computers which has helped tremendously in the transition to computerized quilting. I have a wonderful husband, 2 very successful daughters and 3 young adult grandchildren!

In addition to traditional pieced and whole cloth quilts, I also create many other styles, such as t-shirt, memory quilts, and various artistic quilts! I quilt for hire and many of my customer quilts are award winning quilts.

For 7 years I had the honor of traveling nationally and internationally as a Handi Quilter Educator and have become an expert at sharing my machine and sewing knowledge with ease while having lots of fun!  If you haven't taken one of my classes, Now is the time to try one!  You will be glad you did!  My classes are consistently reviewed with great positivity and teaching that exceeds expectations.

I opened Longarm Quilting Academy 5 years ago in Southlake, Texas.  I started with 1800 square feet!  In 2015 I went on a search for the best location with more space.  I found a perfect facility in Fort Worth in the Fossil Creek area with 3000 square feet.  What a change!  This facility is so much better.  Do come by and see!
